"I have just returned to Australia after a fabulous stay at the apartment you arranged for us.  A quick note to thank you for the excellent service from the day I first emailed you until the time I left the apartment.  You were exceptionally professional and thorough with all the information you provided - so much so that when I arrived at the apartment I thought I had already been there as is was exactly like the pictures and comments you emailed me.  You were on time to meet us at the apartment and you were also a pleasure to deal with." Hardly anything could be more quintessential of Rome than a penthouse with a terrace with direct view of the world-acclaimed Trevi Fountain, by many considered the most beautiful fountain on earth. It's no wonder that in the iconic movie "Roman Holiday" (1953) this is the first place visited by Prince Ann (Audrey Hepburn) in her escape to "La Dolce Vita", the Roman way.

After visiting Rome's wonders and its inspiring sights, picture yourself just turning into a little cozy alley at the corner of the Trevi Fountain and finding your quiet attic with patio overlooking Rome's roofs and the fountain itself.

The penthouse is very quiet, as it is located in a silent little alley ("Vicolo del Forno" or Oven's alley), which begins from the fountain.
You thus have the best of both worlds: literally just around the corner -with direct view - of Rome's most spectacular fountain (which is also near the Spanish Steps, another Rome's icon), and on the other hand there you find quiet despite the highly central, desirable location. In fact there is no motor nor pedestrian circulation, and also the palaces of the alley are quiet.

The penthouse is situated at the second floor (it would be the third floor in the USA) with *elevator*. It comprises a bedroom, an ample sitting-dining room , a kitchen and a bathroom. An additional private sleeping area is obtained near the entry.

The terrace (appr. 5.5 meters x 5.5 meters or 6 x 6 yds.) has views of the roofs of Rome, and also of part of the Trevi fountain.

Click here for more information and photos about the Trevi Fountain, and the neighbourhood of the apartment.

(Right): the patio, seen from its entry from the sitting room (during summer).

On purpose, we snapped photos of the patio both in summer (top photo), and in winter (photo below, opposite view), as the terrace can be used all year long, in the countless Rome sunny days.

The terrace has many vases with plants (including a small olive tree and a small medlar tree).
You find naturally a table with chairs to dine "al fresco".

From the terrace you have view of old Roman roofs, and also of churches nearby.

In the left photo you can see the Church of Santi Vincenzo e Anastasio, an Orthodox church which was donated by Pope John Paul II to the Orthodox community. Notably, and surprisingly, it has statues of women with naked breast.

One of the fine features of this attic is that it includes a kitchen corner directly in the terrace, to cook literally "al fresco" your meals, without having to go back and forth to the kitchen of the apartment each time.

The cupboards of the adjoining sitting-dining room include dishes, glasses, cutlery, cups etc., so everything you need to cook are is within easy reach.
